i was thinking about how much fear there is among jehovah's witnesses in relating to each other.. if you could read the private thoughts of jw's, you'd probably be surprised at the level of fear they have of each other.. this fear is not likely to be the morbid kind of fear, but the other kind of fear that concerns "what will people think of me?".
you watched a movie at the weekend, it was rated pg, but you are afraid to tell your friends that you went to see it.. you were only able to report 4 hours of field service that month, but you are afraid to report this number so you tweak it.. you missed several meetings due to sickness, you still feel unwell, but you fear what the congregation may think so you force yourself to go.. you went on a weekend getaway, but you are afraid to tell the friends why you were missing that weekend in case they think you put kingdom interests last.. you watched a good book, but you are afraid to talk about it to your friends because they might be stumbled.. you heard of someone who got disfellowshipped but you are afraid to ask what happened.. you were unable to take friday off for the convention, but you fear what will be said about you.. you did not auxiliary pioneer during the memorial season and you are afraid people will think of you as spiritually weak.. .
not everyone will let these things bother them, but many do.. this climate of fear and worry about what the congregation may or may not think does not contribute to a loving atmosphere.. what other things can you think of that contribute to a climate of fear?.

Been there, FELT that. Some of us are still getting through the deeply- and purposefully-set phobias. One brother repeatedly refused to call on me during any meeting. At Book Study it was particularly awkward because it was so obvious what was going on. Though I am not an in-your-face sort of guy, I somehow was not intimidated and, per FDS directives, continued to raise my hand. Smartaleckness was not even my agenda [not too much]. Well, last night I dreamed I was back at the KH, he was conducting and DID call on me. He responded to my raised hand by calling me by my first name [not CoCo]. That was done at my hall only for interested persons who wished to participate. Even little dubs got the bro' and sis' titles. Well, now I'm in limbo about my real standing in the congregation. Only in my dreams........

Dear Outlaw, Full of Pain,
Guess we're both awake and similar things going through our heads. Wanna open up and spill it all out but the things I've already said to family were over the top. Things calmed down for me but those you helped in you wanna help out but it's not quick and not easy. We saw the light yet our loved ones may OR may not. It cuts like a knife. Unconditional love and patience are the key. I said in another post that I'm glad that some family members ignored my preaching and went on with their lives. Now my eyes are open and we're doing OK. Some family will be forgiving whatever we do. I hope you manage to bear up under the strain. This is about the only place you seem to get instant help. Takes forever to get some phone calls returned. I'm sending this off quickly to cheer you up!!!!!!!!!!!! CoCo

Thanx for your replies and comments! Please see the following, from THE WATCHTOWER, JUNE 1, 2003, p. 20, para. 11:
"Gog of Magog is identified as Satan the Devil in his debased condition since 1914. As a spirit creature, he cannot carry out his attack directly, but will use human agencies to do his deeds. Who will these human agencies be? The Bible does not give details, yet it does give us certain indications that can help us to identify who they will be. As world events unfold in fulfillment of Bible prophecies, we gradually get an ever-clearer picture. Jehovah's people avoid speculation but remain spiritually alert, fully aware of political and religious developments that fit into the framework of Bible prophecy."
Points to ponder:
1) The UN is not mentioned in the article at all.
2) The WT formerly explained that God's people would be turned on by the UN.
3) The Bible gives 'no details' about who will attack JWs.
4) JWs are not to speculate on WHO [their attacker, not World Health Organization].
5) JWs remain spiritually alert despite having all the spiritual props knocked out from beneath them.

Therefore, if according to AWAKE!, September 8, 1991, the public is urged to ask JWs at their doors, "What gives?," I do hope that the beneficial resources at our disposal here at JWD and www.freeminds.org might become available to seekers of correct information and passed on to an eager public. It would be helpful if each householder had retained his own personal copy of said AWAKE!
